Free Park Cleanup Program

We give back to the communities we serve. Nominate a local park for a free waste cleanup and we will take care of the rest at no cost to anyone.

Cleaner Parks for Everyone

North Shore Scoop was built by someone who lives on the North Shore and uses these parks too. We know what it is like to take a walk or let the kids play and step into something that should not be there.

That is why we created the Free Park Cleanup Program. A few times a month, we pick a nominated park and clean it up at no charge. No fundraiser, no grant application, no city approval needed. Just us, our gear, and a cleaner park for your neighborhood.

If you know a park that needs attention, nominate it below. We will reach out to let you know when it is scheduled.

Simple as 1, 2, 3

Nominate a Park

Fill out the form below with the park name, location, and a quick description of the situation. Photos are helpful but not required.

We Review and Schedule

We review nominations on a rolling basis and reach out to confirm a cleanup date. We aim to get to each nominated park within 4 to 6 weeks.

3

We Show Up and Clean

No cost, no catch. We arrive, clean up all waste from the park area, and leave it better than we found it. You will receive a confirmation when it is done.

Nominate a Park for Free Cleanup

Tell us about the park and why it needs attention. We will follow up within a few business days to confirm receipt and let you know when it is scheduled.

Program FAQ

Is this really free?

Yes, completely free. No donation required, no hidden fees, no obligation to sign up for any service. We do this because clean parks are good for the community and we want to be a neighbor worth having.

What kinds of parks qualify?

Public parks, community green spaces, neighborhood pocket parks, and walking paths. Dog parks are especially welcome. We focus on the North Shore area, including Glenview, Northbrook, Winnetka, Wilmette, Evanston, and surrounding suburbs.

What if the park is really bad?

That is fine. We have seen it all. If the situation requires multiple visits to address fully, we will let you know and work out a plan. The program was designed for parks that genuinely need attention.

How quickly will you clean the nominated park?

We schedule nominated parks on a rolling basis, typically within 4 to 6 weeks. High-need parks may be prioritized. We will contact you to confirm a date once it is on the calendar.

Can a park be nominated more than once?

Yes. If a park you nominated has been cleaned in the past and the problem has returned, submit a new nomination and we will evaluate it again.

Know a Park That Needs Some Love?

Nominate it above. We will take care of it for free.
